Virtual Evil Time Rovers Book 2 eBook Jana Oliver

I really enjoyed this entire series. I don't expect much from the independent authors but will often buy these books to fill gaps until next book from one of the urban fantasy authors who are contracted by major publishers (e.g. Ilona Andrews) releases another book. So that means I end up getting a lot of the less than 5 dollar books to fill the time but most are pretty forgettable and some I can't even get through the first few chapters without abandoning ship. That was not the case with the Time Rovers series. I got the first book on the strength of the other reviews and am really glad I did because Jana Oliver is now a must buy for me.
I am not good at plot summaries, and I think others have already done a good job of doing so, but will say that I normally do not like time travel novels because they get too convoluted (Heinlein, anyone?) still, the quality of the writing was such that I found myself not caring about potential time travel paradoxes. Clearly the author did a lot of research to describe details of the Victorian period so well. There were some twists and turns that I didn't quite expect like a villain who is not quite as villainous as he seems at first, villains I didn't predict, and the romantic interest the heroine ultimately winds up with
Overall a well written series that I highly recommend.

Virtual Evil Time Rovers Book 2 eBook Jana Oliver Reviews

I love this series. Have since finished it and wish there were more. Really connected with the characters. And enjoyed 1888. )
Very well written and exciting story about time travel not only to the past to the future. I like the way the main character was written, feisty but not over done.
Definitely virtual evil present!

There is a point-counter-point between the light and dark within people.

I enjoyed the book, just not as much as the first one... could be because the first one was new to me.

I read it immediately after book 1. The only regret was staying up too late.
Really enjoyed the second book as well as the first one. Hated the way it ends. Don't mind sequels, just don't like the ones that stop like this. Yes, I'll get the next book. No, I probably won't read it immediately. The author has done an excellent job of defining the Victorian age in
Jack the Rippers time, and describing some of the customs as well as the pollution, and life in the slum areas.
I LOVE THIS SERIES!! Jana Oliver's writing is engaging and clear, with just enough believable science fiction to make it interesting. Beautiful blend of modern-day science and Victorian England. The main character is sassy and smart, supporting characters are lovable. Plot twists will keep you guessing until the end. Read this book!!
I followed the series and enjoyed it. The characters had more dimension as the story progressed. I've loaned it out too. I love time travel, and I really enjoyed the hallucination of the talking spider that was a side-effect of too much time travel. The story has sweet friendships and dedicated ones as well. It doesn't trip over itself with bodice ripping, and I think the pace is strong and kept me interested.
I did not finish this. Somehow, the fact that book one dealt with Jack the Ripper, the murders and violence seemed part and parcel of it. However, when book two seemed to go on in that vein and even up the ante (Nicci and her "meetings" and the pathology of violent crimes....'scuse me while I barf). I don't want to go on reading.
